Daily Outfit: Broken Out!
October 25, 2011 § 2 Comments
Yesterday was probably the last really nice day of the summer/fall. Heck last year at this time it had already snowed a couple times so I’m grateful I could still wear sandals. I pulled out my favorites to finish off the “season” and I traveled to one of my favorite local parks to try to find some autumn. No luck. What the heck?! Usually Hanscom Park (the oldest city park in Omaha) can be counted on for some autumn color but there isn’t much this year.
I grew up in the Colorado mountains surrounded by very large colonies of Aspens. Nothing compares to Aspens in fall. Not even the Northeast. Then again maybe that’s my bias showing, more so since that’s what I grew up with. And while we certainly have Maples and other very colorful vegetation here it’s not the same. I miss my Aspens. I miss my Colorado falls (nevermind that it is now winter there and no longer fall). I’m still going to try to find some fall to take photos of. Any Omahans have any suggestions of where to go?
One last note – I put this on and immediately my fiance said I looked like I broke out of a women’s prison. Sigh. Really?
