Daily Outfit: Plaid Strikes Again

I have been a terrible blogger lately. Best of intentions and all that. Then something comes up, I get called in to work, I get sick feeling (not the flu I don’t think but I just have that crappy tired feeling), or my favorite excuse – finalizing a schedule and getting reservations done for my trip to New York & Ireland with my mom. Yeah, bad blogger. I did start several posts though that I am looking forward to finishing. And I did take a skirt into the tailor to get the zipper replaced. A zipper that has been broken since it arrived from the online retailer when I bought it a year ago. Very proud of myself, especially since I actually love this skirt!

Anyhow this outfit was sorta – kinda – inspired. Sorta. I wanted to do the boots but no blazer. And I couldn’t find my brown riding boots! This is where I admit I need to clean my bedroom. I just drop stuff wherever and then it piles. Clean laundry sits in the basket. Yeah, bad housekeeper lately too. Sigh. And the bangs? I took this photo literally 15 minutes before I got them trimmed. Thank god. Looking awful there!

I would really like the opportunity to pair this plaid shirt with a sequin skirt but I can’t find one I like. Lane Bryant has a black matte one that is just okay but not great. I also don’t want to spend a whole lot because really, how often do you wear a sequined skirt? Do any of you know where a chubby chick could get her hands on a knee-length sequin skirt? Thank you! The holidays didn’t pan out and now I’m afraid I may have missed my “window”.

I love the plaid and the red, you wear it well. I seriously need you to come to California and put all my outfits together! :)
