About Me
I am Missy. The stats after that are easy: I am 31 years old and I live in Omaha, Nebraska with my husband. I adore cooking, fashion, decorating, shopping, thrifting, scrapbooking, travel, Facebook (how sad is that?!) and I proudly wave my Geek Flag for all to see. I collect things too – lots of things: international currency, postcards, vintage cookbooks (in some cases well over 100 years old), jewelry, decorating inspiration photos, craft supplies (which I may or may not use!) and my husband would say shoes and purses too!
In 2006 I found myself living alone with no partner, no children, no roommate and I didn’t get to share much of me or my life with anyone. I’d had webpages back in the day (when it was cool!) so I started to figure out blogging. It took awhile, with several different formats, several different platforms and several different addresses but I got the chance to have some fun and experiment. Eventually I focused my blogging efforts on my life, in all its complexity – the pieces of my life. It is ever evolving. The only true thing I can ever say about it is that it reflects me and who I am.
At one point in this blog’s life cycle it was a foodie/bento blog (from about Feb 2008 to Feb 2009). It felt very schizophrenic having foodie things and recipes wrapped up with shopping adventures, home decor, random links and fashion so I moved all the food related posts to their own separate blog – Pieces of (my) Thyme. Which I will not be updating. I’d love to but I’m busy enough as it is. I still keep my best recipes there!
I also have a “photography” blog – Photographic {Pieces} – though I am not that good. I just love playing with pictures and I wanted to put my photos in the same place. I only randomly update this blog and haven’t done so in a very long time. Maybe I should do that…
